The Diet that suits my needs

Hate to admit this but my body type is that of a pear.


This means I have pretty slender arms, rather nice collar bones and chubby everything else - Tummy, butt, thighs.

I exercise frequently, about 4 times a week. I do workouts that I enjoy, as follows:
  • at least 1 session of hot yoga each week
  • at least 1 session of insanity each week
  • chacha, samba and technique classes (each 1 time a week, however i do not consider this as exercise).

I need to add jogging into my routine (yeh i do enjoy jogging; i just need to motivate myself to get started and I will get the hang of it again :D).

In addition to the physical benefits (honestly i am still rather chubby but i will be alot worse if i don't do all these workouts), the reason why I love doing the above workouts so much is because they help me clear my mind - to me they are a form of meditation + I also gain new skills and understand my body much better (ok this does not apply to Insanity but i love how it makes me sweat buckets + I can do it at home).

Working out is clearly not enough and I need to start watching my diet. I do not eat much fast food or fried carbs nowadays but i definitely can still improve on what I'm eating. I need to cut down on the following:
  • My weekly Gongcha indulgences (I can save $15 each month too and use this $15 to have a nice meal at some cafe or buy a nice top or buy a good make up product).
  • My snacking in the office (Gonna have to cut down on those kit kat bars, lays potato chips, chocolates, nonsensical snacks :[[[ . ok i will cut down on all except chocolates :D). I will replace my current unhealthy snacking habit to a healthy one - I will snack on almonds, garlic mung beans & yogurt instead.
  • Carbs - will switch white rice, ban mian, yellow mee with beehoon, meesua, brown rice. I will make it a habit.

I went to do some research on what someone with my body type needs to eat to cut down on all those unwanted fats and heres what I needa strictly eat to get the physique i want:
  • Whole Grains
  • Whole Wheat Pasta
  • Figs (ok time to start snacking on Figs)
  • Brown Rice
  • Lots of Vegatables
  • Fruit
  • Moderate amounts of lean protein - turkey, chicken, lean fish (Lean fish are those that are low in fat, such as flounder, sole, cod, red snapper, bass, perch, halibut and pike. Fat fish are those which are high in fat, such as salmon, tuna, trout, butterfish and mackerel.)
  • Flaxseeds (ok I will buy this and put this into everything.)
  • Cruciferous vegetables (cauliflower, cabbage, garden cress, bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprouts and similar green leaf vegetables.)
  • Organic Dairy/meat products (this is not practical for me hence i'll just stick to lean meat instead).
  • Omega 3 oils – Avocados, olive’s olive oil, flax oil, fish oils, raw nuts & seeds
  • Spices and herbs: Turmeric, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Sage, Ginger, Fenugreek, Milk Thistle and dandelion root.
  • Onion & Garlic
Food to avoid (GAH I eat alot of the following):
  • Butter
  • Processed/Luncheon meats (i just ate 3 hotdogs on thursday -_-)
  • Regular meats
  • Sour Cream
  • Tofu/Soy
  • Excess Coffee (ok i will stick with 1 cup a day now)
  • Pasta/White carb (butt this is everywhereee) - reason being they are low in fibre. If i eat this, I needa eat high fibre food.
  • Alcohol (not difficult to stop drinking this - i only like red/white wine anyway).
  • Harmful fats (This includes any hydrogenated oils, partially hydrogenated oils, shortenings, margarines and unhealthy, inflammatory fats, including most vegetable oils (sunflower, safflower), cotton seed oil and palm oil. High fat consumption is known to increase estrogen levels in the body.)
It's time to get fit - to wear the clothes i want to wear, to be able to jump around without all that jiggling. I want that lifestyle. :)

Lazy day at home

Its raining now. Woo hoo.

Met a few more people recently. May have a slight crush on one of them too but now I revert back to the usual one again. Anyway, I really enjoy meeting new people. Learning more about them and what makes each individual unique. Realised that theres many things that can make one unique. You do not have to stick to liking the same stuff as so called different people to be seen as different. Just like what you like!

Feeling very inspired. ok pack room time now.

My last Hollies as a student

It's a must. this will be my last holiday as a student.

Side note: Funny how all the girls I cant clique with tend to be so fucking whiny. Well, can't be bothered. I wish to be away from such torment. My tolerance is just so low with these people.

Memorable things I did so far during the hollies:

1) Design SPC shirt.
2) Went Batam
3) Got my results. Proud of them.
4)  YEN retreat.

Works

I'm going to make it a point to update this space with my works (well at least till I create my own portfolio). Afterall, I spend a significant amount of time doing all these, so, OF COURSE MUST POST AND SHARE THEM SOMEWHERE. Can't just do them and then let them dissapear. Also, it is nice to see how my style/standard changes/improves over the years. So...

EXAMS OVER LOH.

Finally, after a hectic month, exams are over!
I believe that this time round, I put in alot of effort in my exams (though I think I could have done better) but, there was definately ALOT of effort.  Ended the day yesterday with IRON MAN 3. Lots of self indulgences I need!

I hope to score for ALL but no matter what happens, for now, I will just enjoy my holidays until the release of results at the end of this month! If I score for all, I will immediately go and buy my 35mm lens! And hopefully a canon body as well. Still deciding if I wana get the 100d or a higher end camera. Decisions Decisions.

Anyway, the plans for the weekend/next week:
1) Throw Throw Throw all the papers away (Will have to compile all the unwanted papers and bring to some paper recycling bin to throw them into. Why isn't there any recycling bin near my house?!?!

2) Sort out the books to sell. (After the release of my results, I will immediately sell these books away).

3) Clear Clear Clear my messy room (Will do this today and tmr).

4) Haircut plus Facial on monday.

5) Batam from Tues - Thurs =D Hope all goes well in Batam!

6) Hopefully Timbre on Thurs night.

7) Appointment at the Clinic on Friday.

8) Community Service on Sat.

9) Rest/Find a part time job on Sunday.

End. Off to buy Dinner then read 'The Girl Who Played with Fire' tonight!

Wavelength

so damn thankful to have met more than a handful of peeps who are on the same wavelength as me. If there not one soul with the same wavelength as me, i can just die :/ really wonder what autistic ppl go through. do they not care that everyone else have a different wavelength from them or are they just not bothered? If so, I wish I have their 'cant be bothered' attitude.
